Melody Bear Tap and ballet

Melody Movement introduces children to dance and movement using the natural actions of the body such as running, walking, jumping, hopping, skipping and galloping.  It is structured to aid children’s physical development, coordination, spatial awareness, sensory development, creativity and self-expression.

There are lots of fun dance ideas including the ‘Boogie Woogie Bend and Bounce’, ‘Magic Shoes’, ‘Disco Bears’, ‘Hawaiian Tap’, ‘Melody Bear’s Cheerleading Song’ and her ‘Line Dancing’ to name a few.

Rhythm and tempo, beats and sounds are explored in fun creative exercises in our early years tap dancing syllabus.

Classical Ballet

Classical ballet is the foundation of all dance styles, with the focus being on technique, enabling dancers to perform this style of dance with style, control, agility and poise. 

At Danceforce we follow the IDTA ballet syllabus from Preparatory upwards allowing students to progress through the ballet grades and gain knowledge of more advanced steps and improve their technique as they progress.

We introduce pointe work classes from Grade 3 upwards for students who are ready to progress onto Pointe.

Tap

Tap dancing uses the feet in a rhythmical way to perform steps and routines.

Tap shoes are required for this class. Danceforce follows the IDTA syllabus for Tap, and the students can take their tap exams from preparatory upwards.

Modern

Modern Dance offers dancers at Danceforce a chance to explore their creativity and imagination through movement.  It also enables them to build their strength through floor work, jumps, to partnering and improvisation. This class also enables dancers to improve their flexibility.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is an exciting fusion of lyrical jazz, ballet and modern dance. It encourages the dancer to express their emotions through movement and develop their creativity.partnering and improvisation. This class also enables dancers to improve their flexibility.

Commercial

A commercial dance class focuses on teaching dance styles commonly seen in music videos, live performances, commercials, and popular media. The choreography blends elements from various genres such as hip-hop, jazz, and pop, with an emphasis on high-energy moves, expressive performance, and precision. The atmosphere is usually upbeat and dynamic, encouraging creativity and stage presence while focusing on clean technique and synchronisation with music.

Acrobatic Arts

Acrobatic Arts is a well-developed programme based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of acro dance; Flexibility, Strengthening, Tumbling, Balancing and Limbering. Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner pre-school dancer from log rolls and cartwheels to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage.

Street Dance

Street Dance is a high energy class learning ‘funky’ hip hop and commercial moves to create routines to the latest chart music.  At Danceforce we have Street dance competition teams which the students can audition for, where they enter nationwide street dance competitions.

Musical Theatre

A class full of singing, dancing and acting! This class gives the students the opportunity to explore songs from musicals and to develop their confidence and performance skills on and off stage!

Lyrical

Lyrical dance blends ballet, jazz, and contemporary styles, emphasising fluid movements and emotional expression that reflect the music's lyrics and mood.

Jazz Technique

A jazz technique class focuses on the fundamentals of jazz dance, including isolations, sharp movements, turns, leaps, and flexibility. It emphasizes rhythm, coordination, and dynamic energy, helping dancers build strength, precision, and style.

Stretch and Conditioning

A stretch and conditioning class focuses on improving flexibility, strength, and overall fitness. It includes exercises to lengthen muscles, enhance range of motion, and build core stability, helping dancers prevent injury and improve performance

Troupe Class

An invitation only class for our competition team who perform in Festivals, Competitions and performances.

We welcome all new students to join us for 2 weeks for just £15 before signing up to help you settle in, meet your teachers and classmates, and make sure you're happy in your class.
