About Us

Established in 2017, Danceforce Performing Arts Academy offers a range of dance classes in North Ferriby, from Musical Theatre to Acrobatic Dance for children aged 18 months to 18 years. Located in Brough, Yorkshire, and its surrounding areas, our academy is led by Principal Melissa Tweddle and a team of highly talented and fully qualified teachers.

In addition to our regular classes, our students have the chance to showcase their skills in our annual show held at St Mary's College Theatre and other community performances. They also participate in dance competitions and festivals, and many have even auditioned for associate dance programs to enhance their training alongside their classes at Danceforce PAA.

Our Mission

Our aim at Danceforce is to provide children with a professional dance and performing arts curriculum, as well as encouraging them to build confidence, self-esteem and discipline to nourish their talents whilst having fun and making friends within the academy.

Our Classes

Melody Bear Tap and ballet

Melody Movement introduces children to dance, movement and fundamental curriculum learning skills.

Classical Ballet

Classical ballet is the foundation of all dance styles, with the focus being on technique, enabling dancers to perform this style of dance with style, control, agility and poise.

Modern

Modern Dance offers dancers at Danceforce a chance to explore their creativity and imagination through movement.

Tap

Tap dancing uses the feet in a rhythmical way to perform steps and routines.

Tap shoes are required for this class.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is an exciting fusion of lyrical jazz, ballet and modern dance.

Street Dance

Street Dance is a high energy class learning ‘funky’ hip hop and commercial moves to create routines to the latest chart music.

Acrobatic Arts

Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner pre-school dancer from log rolls and cartwheels to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage.

Troupe Class

An invitation only class for our competition team who perform in Festivals, Competitions and performances.

Musical Theatre

A class full of singing, dancing and acting! This class gives the students the opportunity to explore songs from musicals.

Like a family

'My Daughter has been with Danceforce for just 9 months. During this relatively short time she has gone from dancing for pleasure to dancing to be the best she can be. She has been positively promoted in so many different ways and dance has become her life. The teachers, helpers and other students are like family to her and we are so grateful for all they do'.
